Reversible Beverage

I once set up something like this a long time ago, but or I did something wrong but didn't think it performed well.
We are going to test this again with this difference now that I can compare with the 9RX circle array.
I used to make that with wooden posts, but this time I'm going to completely dispense with that.
It's just too much work to drive those posts into the ground.
So looking for other posts that are easy to place and in the meantime I have also found these "meadow poles"
You have them in different lengths, these are 1.05 m long.
Need a lot, on the site where I bought them you could buy them per 60 at a price of around 70 €
I also have a nice deal with my YL, if you have read my site you know that we have border collie's..... in winter i can use the posts and in summer the YL can use them to train the dogs "learn to slalom."
I still have the cable, army field telephone cable.
This time I will not use this either because that cable is really not handy, it curls in all directions.
So we invested again and bought another cable.
Everything has been ordered and should be delivered within a few days and then we can start building.
In the meantime we are going to do the necessary searches for the length of the beverage, I remember from the past that they all use a different length.
ON4IA said that around 250m length I would already be a good start.
So we still have a few days left before everything is received and we are going to look this up a bit more thoroughly.

Bought the reversible beverage boxes from Remothe QTH a few years ago.
I am now adjusting this a little bit, not much special but replaced the PL plugs to BNC.
It is the version with two coax outputs, 1 coax output must be terminated with 50Ohm so that everything works as it should.
If it works that way I'll build a system later so I can use both directions.
now why reversible.... is the easiest way to place a beverage at 25° with the least amount of coax.
As you can see below, I can place a beverage difficult to the north.
as you can see I will only need about 20 meters of coax that way to the shack.

Another day further....
Everything is ready, because I have the version of 2 output from remotheqth I have to terminate the other output with 50ohm.
This one is also made so that everything switches automatically together with my RXswitch
Everything has also been tested in the shack with the hope that if everything is outside I won't have any problems.
Now in my case there will be problems for sure, stupidity, wrong control etc....
ah yes that green box a long time ago bought a part at a flea market ...
It is normally used in the army in their jeeps in which the first aid kit was in.(waterproof)
I know I'm sinning against everything you can think of....cleaning it up is for next year.
In the meantime, this is still waiting for the posts and the cable.

Everything is almost there.... just waiting for the posts.
Just made it into a reversible BOG for the time being, now uh actually it's a BOW (beverage on water)
Some parts of the meadow are still under water especially at the end
of course already testing a bit and no this doesn't work at all, can't work either because the beverage box from remothe QTH is not that for a BOG...
I also didn't feel like making another one that is suitable for a BOG, but for 1 day that I have to wait, this is not worth the effort.
Now tomorrow the poles and hopefully tomorrow evening the first tests.

The pictures are coming... but those things don't work at my house. As I said on other sub pages my ground conductivity is way too good.......
Yes I can say this after only 15 minutes of testing.
250m long, and a waste of time.
Now I can really say a beverage doesn't work if the ground conducts too much... Now lost time yes and no we are one step closer to what certainly doesn't work here.
We are going to do a few more days of testing and if it doesn't get any better, everything will be broken down quickly.
Now if someone need some posts and wire they are "almost" for sale....

I'm going to have to reconsider my opinion...
An additional problem has been discovered which has since been solved and the beverage is receiving great (finally).
Better than the 9rx is still too early but it is pretty close to the 9RX.(mono version)
Below is a screenshot of my RX problem.... later after further investigations I will post more info.
I doubt whether I will keep this beverage, but it is hopeful to do further tests.
In ON4UN's book, he speaks that it might be more interesting to connect two of them.
But this is really not for this year anymore.
We are going to test what we have.
