Measuring Phase

If you have read the other subpages, you know I am using a Minivna. (Almost 10 Years in use)

For unknown reason I cannot measure the phase difference with my analyser.

I tried different software, did the calibration but it just won’t get me the result I need at this point.

So I must do something wrong or my analyser has some fault.

I found the error with my version of the minivna.
It's not my fault or the analyzer's fault , but I'm just reaching the limits my version can handle.
My version can only measure the phase from 0 ° to 180 ° and not really accurate.

Fortunately I have good friends who have told me about this.

In the meantime I have looked up the limits and this is correct.
In other words, time for another analyzer.

Luckily, I could get my hands on a 4 port calibrated oscilloscope.

And after I connected all to the oscilloscope it was like magic in my eyes .

Calculations are not don by myself but its looks like all is getting finally how it should be.

Still wondering why my Minivna isn’t measuring what it should be. ( see above)

If I ever find out what I was doing wrong with the minivna I will update this page again.

In the meantime bought the NANOVNA and made some measurements again.
In the manual they say that you have to use the RX port and the CE port to calibrate what I did. After that calibration you have to measure from RX to SW and RX to NE and you should arrive at -160 ° and 160 ° phase on those ports.
Now I think I'm close to it. on the right is the NE port en next to it the SW port.

1,84Mhz S21 phase on NE is 159.67° and S21 phase SW is 160.56°.

3.66Mhz S21 NE is 140.9° and S21 phase SW is 140.96°

The only thing that is not correct in my opinion is the impedance, you should measure 75 ohms on each port, but depending on which port I measure, I am between 75 and 82 ohms.
I have yet to find out why this is so.
Hope brings life
