It’s looks all that simple but eventually I had many problems.
Still not all of them are solved.
The manual says on page 28 and 29 that all ports must be 75 Ohms.
Well after some days if finally have that accomplished however as you will see on the pictures below its looks ok on 1.8Mhz but on 3.8Mhz its going up in impedance.
No idea why this is happening.
RX Port
On the RX port its looks good enough for me on 1.8Mhz and even on 3.8Mhz.
Its all around 75 Ohms.
SW port
As you can see beneath suddenly I have on 3.8Mhz 88 Ohms and on 1.8Mhz 78,5 Ohms
I have no idea why this is happening.
In the manual they saying around 75 Ohms in my opinion 88 Ohms is not close enough but I will accept it for the moment till I know the answer “why” .
NE port
Well it looks close enough for me but again on 3.8Mhz the impedance has dropped to 71.5 Ohms
Center port
Again here on the center port the impedance is up again 83,5 Ohms, on 1.8Mhz its perfect.
No idea again why it happen.
Conclusion
On 1.8Mhz it looks ok for me maybe not perfect but we don’t have all calibrated measuring equipment. On 3.8Mhz ……………. there has to be a simple explanation why. I’m not smart enough to figure it out at this time. There is the manual and the video of VA6WZ and they are good! the only thing is, it all looks that simple when they explaining it, all there measuring are good from the start, didn’t they have problems or made some mistakes.
For the moment I will accept what I have but in the future I have to look at it again.
