2022 CQ WW CW OT7T

The call OT7T is the vanity callsign of silent key ON4UN... To honor him we use in the big contest his call to make sure he will be remembered.

For this contest ON4PQ and ON9EEE/HA8MT will use my station.

First time for me to open the station to other operators.
So yes, it has to be perfect, and they will make a review for me so that i can make my station better for contest level.

We are participating in the explorer multi/multi category my station will handle 80m monoband only.

Just before the contest starts... we are still awake at 00.30AM UTC time.

On the left ON9EEE/HA8MT the middle ON7MV the right ON4PQ

Here too I can't forget my lovely wife (ON3MA) because she has ensured that they will certainly not be short of anything.
Everyone who comes here should be spoiled, especially in contest.

The first night

Contesting for the first time also means that not everything goes as it should.
The first problem was that we didn't receive any spots from the master PC... in other words, we missed some multy's here and there.

After the band was closing i ask first what could be better for next day.

They asked new keyboard and mouse for the computer (done)

Shorter acces on the RX system (done)

Make cluster work (done)

1 thing i could not adjust is...

The RX system indication of direction falls out on TX to protect the preamps on the RX they would suggest that indication of direction still work but still keep power of RX on transmit.
I'm not going to make that adjustment now because I have to convert a part and I don't like to make something new during a contest

After 10 contest hours, 780 qso's have been logged and 96 multi's

The second night

last night's problems were solved but a new one has popped up...

From the moment I use my 2nd VFO the cat connection to N1MM doesn't always happen but very disturbing when it happens.
Now that the band is closed at 80m, the drivers have been removed and the latest new one installed, hoping that it is now resolved.

No problems for the rest.

At the moment we have the most qso's (80m) but are still missing a few multipliers...1537 qso's and 129 multipliers.

Now on to the final hours  this evening.

The final evening

The last hours are always the hardest, but we keep going until the end of the contest.

This evening only 1 operator and that is ON9EEE/HA8MT Fery.

It's my first time meeting him. Very calm person even in contest and a great CW operator.

The end result may be there for sure.
According to the online score we are 3rd in the world but the first 2 are participating in a different category.
We participate in the class M/M explorer. More info on CQWW website about this category.

We did 80m in the contest what a score we have.

Mist a few multi stations on 80m because some are a little deaf in contest.

As soon as the final score is published on the CQWW site, I will definitely post it here.

Problems

I still have problems with N1MM and the IC-7600. The cat connection loses connection to the computer many times.

As soon as I take SO2V in N1MM it works fine for a while until the transceiver goes above 3.560Mhz and then everything cuts out again.

If I take SO1V in N1MM I can't use the 2nd VFO because then again, the cat connection is lost.

It will be a search to find the reason. Already searched the internet but found little useful at the moment.
Reinstall a new driver was no solution.

More ferrite on USB kabel... same again bad connection cat.

we will find it we have a few months to find out.
